Well, Christmas came and went entirely too fast, as usual! Luckily, we both got to enjoy a full week off though, which was so great. We did "Santa" and our gifts to each other at our house, then went out to East Texas for a few days, then back home to do Christmas with Brandon's side.
Since McKenna is 3, she really gets the whole Santa thing now which made it SO much more fun than last year...not that every year hasn't been fun, but she was way more excited this year about Santa coming, and the reindeer being in the yard and all of that! Plus, to be totally honest it was nice to be able to threaten her with "Santa's watching!" when she was acting up.
Her and I made and decorated cut-out cookies for Santa (because he can't have any other kind!) and she thought it was the coolest thing! At first, she didn't understand why Santa was going to eat all of her cookies, but she finally gave in and left him a few.
And of course, you can't leave out the reindeer so we made up some reindeer food for the front yard too!
When she woke up, it took her a little while to realize that "Oh yeah, Santa came!" then the chaos was underway! Since we went WAY overboard last year, we really scaled back the gifts this year...and she still got too much stuff!
The theme this year seemed to be the princesses. She got a Sleeping Beauty talking vanity, a Cinderella dress, Tinkerbell dress (from my parents) and Sleeping Beauty dress (from Brandon's mom). She also got a big wheel, a coaster car, some games and puzzles and about a zillion other things that we don't have room for!!
I love this time of year, but after 3 Christmasses, I was ready to "de-holiday" my house! And even though it was a little chaotic, it was all worth it when she gave me a big hug and said "Mommy, I just love Christmas!!"
